Wagg Creek Retention Basin
North Vancouver, Canada
An upgrade to the Wagg Creek debris flow retention basin was required, to improve sediment removal efficiency and to minimize potential for resuspension. These improvements were achieved by installing flow bypass piping, pre-sedimentation ponds and an outlet structure comprising flow control weirs. The outlet structure was of complex geometry consisting of many compartments at varying elevations.
GEA was responsible for the detailed design of the outlet structure as well as construction support services and field reviews. Overall design management by Kerr Wood Leidal Associates Ltd.
