Sukari Gold Mine Power Station
Marsa Alam, Egypt
Located in the Eastern Desert 50 km from the Red Sea, the site poses the usual challenges faced by projects in a hot, arid, climate.
With a total installed capacity of over 40 MW this heavy-fuel oil fired power station utilizes six MAK piston gensets and seven smaller Cummins units. The building comprises a steel superstructure on a concrete substructure.
GEA’s responsibilities included detailed design of powerhouse, fuel storage and appurtenant structures, preparation of detailed construction documents, construction support and field reviews.
