Tyson Creek Hydroelectric Project

At 865 m of available static head, this 9.3 MW plant is expected to be the highest-head project in North America. At peak flows, about 1.4 m3/s will be withdrawn to produce 48 GWh per annum. A significant component is the intake tunnel developed by lake tap methods.

GEA’s responsibilities included the preliminary and detailed design of the intake, penstock and powerhouse. Overall civil engineering by Kerr Wood Leidal Associates Ltd.
