Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal Berths 1, 2 and 3 Ramp Tower Seismic Upgrade
British Columbia, Canada
The vehicle loading ramps are supported off steel latticework towers that rest on substructures comprising concrete pile caps and steel pipe piles. The ramp towers have suffered considerable deterioration of the pile caps and piles. Braced, grout-filled steel jackets were provided to all piles over the length of the splash zone.
GEA’s role: structural assessments, concept designs and detailed designs; preparation of construction drawings and specifications and field reviews during construction.
