In order to accommodate two Aumund clinker unloading bins, a clinker buffer-storage hall and a bulk truck loading facility. The existing wharf required extensive reconstruction due to its poor condition and an increase of the dredging depth 9 m. Ships of up to 20,000 DWT can now be berthed at the wharf.
GEA was responsible for detailed design of the gate, hoisting system, gate guides and embedments on behalf of the gate contractor. GEA is designing the structural components of the new dam and spillway.
