Vanterm Rubber Tired Gantry Maintenance Building

The building will protect rubber tired gantries from the weather during maintenance. It measures about 40 by 22 m in plan and has a height of 33 m. The superstructure comprises lattice columns supporting trussed girders and roof beams. The upper 40% of the rear and sides is clad, the rest is open. A 5 tonne bridge crane is provided. Concrete pile caps on ground-anchored piles form the foundations.
GEA’s responsibilities included detailed design of the complete structure and preparation of tender documents.
